"The Most Likely Johto Pokemon To Receive Alolan Forms (Long & Detailed)"

With so little information regarding USUM and the possibility of Johto Pokemon receiving Alolan Forms, I felt it was worth examining which Pokemon from Johto best qualified as potential candidates. Based upon actions taken by TPC during the revealing of the original Alolan Pokemon as well other other logical assertions, potential options had to meet four requirements. Johto Pokemon were excluded from candidacy if they violated any of the following:1.) The final form of the evolutionary chain must be an Original Johto Pokemon. This excludes lines like Togepi, Swinub, and Yanma but not Pokemon like Mantine. Additionally, split evolutions like Tyrogue, Eevee, or Slowpoke were excluded as they too heavily attached to Kanto and Alolan forms for only part of the line would be messy.2.) The Pokemon cannot have a Mega Evolution. None of the original Alolans could Mega Evolve and implementing a new Mega Evolution or altering how the Stone functions seems less than ideal.3.) The Pokemon or its evolutionary line cannot have already appeared in SuMo. This would exclude Pokemon like Granbull or Scizor. This eliminated a good deal of Pokemon but based upon how carefully SuMo showcased Pokemon in the lead up to release, they would not have placed Pokemon in the game that they already had in mind for Alolan Forms.4.) The Pokemon cannot be a legendary or mythical Pokemon. This is fairly obvious I believe as Alolan Lugia or Raikou would be hard to explain. With those rules in place, these are the available Pokemon that could receive Alolan Forms: -Chikorita/Bayleef/Meganium -Cyndaquil/Quilava/Typhlosion -Totodile/Croconaw/Feraligatr -Sentret/Furret -Hoothoot/Noctowl -Natu/Xatu -Hoppip/Skiploom/Jumpluff -Sunkern/Sunflora -Wooper/Quagsire -Wobbuffet -Girafarig -Pineco/Forretress -Dunsparce -Qwilfish -Shuckle -Teddiursa/Ursaring -Slugma/Macargo -Remoraid/Octillery -Mantine -Phanpy/Donphan -StantlerI have bolded the ones I feel best qualify for potential Alolan Forms but that is simply a best guess. Although not an official rule, none of the Original Alolan Forms were from non-evolutionary lines. Whether this is due to a lack of realizable options or because TPC felt that Alolan forms only belonged to Pokemon that could evolve in unclear. Finally it should be noted that the Johto starters do have a fair chance at receiving Alolan Forms. Gen 1 & 3 have Megas and Gen 4 starters will probably receive something when the remakes eventually happen. Not only does Gen 2 have nothing, but all three starters are single typing. That leaves room for potential Alolan Forms that could add a secondary typing. I'm not entirely convinced but I see the plausibility.Feel free to leave your thoughts or point out any issues you see. There may not even be more Alolan forms, but I simply wanted to explore the likely criteria that will be applied to the Johto Pokemon and the ones that best fit the bill. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2uyxCJU
