"Meowth 2.0 - a Discord helper bot for Pokemon Go communities: now remotely hosted!"

#PokemonGO: Hi all! A few weeks ago I posted a little summer project of mine, a Discord bot that helps notify and coordinate raids while relying entirely on user reports. I was blown away by the response and help I received making improvements, and now I'm ready to show off a much more user-friendly Meowth. This version can be simply invited to your server (provided you have the proper permissions) and configured by the server owner, without requiring you to run the bot locally. Your users can choose which Pokemon they are interested in and be notified only when those raids or spawns are reported on the server. Meowth also keeps track of raid parties as they form and can list the people that are on the way or waiting at a raid, helping parties coordinate and (hopefully) making it easier not to leave anyone out.For anyone with some Python knowledge and the urge to tinker, the repository is still here. I'm still working on improvements myself, and the remotely hosted bot will always run the most up-to-date version from this master branch. The repo also has more detailed instructions for either setup. Finally, here is an invite to the Discord server where you can see Meowth in action, stay updated on the newest changes, request new features, report bugs, or try Meowth out for yourself.Fair warning! My motivation for Meowth was wanting a way to somewhat automate or assist raid reporting and coordination without using any illicit services. So while I'm happy to help in setup or give advice for tinkerers, I'm not going to spend any of my time helping integrate my bot with anything like that. Just so you all know! Thanks so much for the support and I hope you enjoy the new and improved Meowth! via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2vdIyk2
