"[Complaint] Tired of Niantic being soft-handed with spoofers"
#PokemonGO: I've been fortunate enough to discover that, even in my semi-rural area, there are still a lot of people playing or came back to the game. So I've been able to get into the raids, complete which ones I want to do, and I'm grateful for that. However, invariably, each Messenger group, which started off being people showing up, meeting face to face, grew. And when they grew, spoofers started coming in as well.Tons of raids will now start having people expecting you to tell them start times in the messenger group, and getting pissed if you don't, because they're not there in person to hear someone vocally say, "Go". Players who have shown up face-to-face are now counting on "air support" to help them through. To make matters worse, they're happily and actively encouraging other people to spoof as well. I wound up leaving both groups in my area because it turned into people talking non-stop about spoofing to Santa Monica, Australia, making sure they got all three of the legendary beasts before they've even been released for a full week. When the issue of "can't I get banned for doing that?" came up, these spoofers literally just laughed about it and said all you have to do is attempt to spin stops X number of times or leave it alone for a few hours. Yeah, they're fully aware that Niantic won't do crap to them, and this emboldens them even further. More to the point, it helped get even more people spoofing in the Messenger group that weren't spoofing previously, because Niantic's slap on the wrist is so incredibly light that they just shrug it off and keep on doing what they do.This was as much a vent post as it was a complaint, but Niantic needs to step up its punishment of players who are spoofing. None of this softban stuff, just outright ban them. These people don't get softbanned and think, "Oh, dear. I must change my ways, because this is clearly not acceptable." They laugh it off and continue to cheat because Niantic won't do anything that's actually detrimental to them. via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2xKbJsO
