"[Discussion] Safari Zone Oberhausen recap"

#PokemonGO: Alright, so the overall Safari Zone was okay. Not more, not less. The facts: there were only 15 types of pokemon.BulbasaurCharmanderSquirtlePikachuClefairy (who the hell let you in?)MachopChanseyKangashkanMagikarpEeveeTotodile (other two starters from Gen 2 were not there)MareepUnown (S, A, F, R, I)Skarmory (well, what were you doing there?)LarvitarAfter the first few hours it got really static and kinda boring. Nothing new, just the same things over and over again - but now we have a shitton of candy for these 15 guys. (sitting now at over 750 candy for mareep just to give you a slight idea of how many there were) At the end it was a grind to get the shiny Pikachu (got it) and shiny Magikarp (didn't get it, but already had one so no big deal)The trainer kits were a real joke tbh. A white paper bag without any indication what's inside (not even a PoGo logo) was filled with the QR code, a flyer with a map of the CentrO and where to find special offers (best one was a big 33cm pizza for 5 €), a paper-Pikachu-hat, a rubber bracelet in your team color and a teamlogo-sticker for your car... Didn't expect much but this was all we got...From a logistical point there was absolutely nothing wrong. CentrO had a horrible wireless LAN before but they improved much for this event! Big shoutout! Last time I visited there was no GPS signal inside the CentrO, this time everything was fine for me. The check in to get your trainer kit was well done and at max 5 minutes of waiting. There were also 4 more or less known german-speaking Youtubers that were VIPs for the day. From the point I've seen they handled it very well. There was even a foto session planned with all the Youtubers...And then there were the eggs... Yeah, got a few good ones (100% Mareep, Snorlax, Dratini) but also got a few shit ones (Skarmory, Chinchou, Pineco). Let's see what the remaining 7 eggs from the event will be...The overall attitude there was great. Met so many trainers, it was hype. The security and staff we talked to were always nice and more or less good informed. The inapprehensible comments from the other visitors were always funny. Don't they have hobbies too? Can we bitch about them too?Unfortunately there were no bigger surprises or variety during the day. And the announcement of "Pokemon that were never seen in Europe before" from Niantics homepage was just a blatant lie. We saw every single Pokemon already in Europe...And to everybody who did not got a ticket: just go on the street and find absolutely everything just not that often. There was absolutely no reason for the whole shitstorm. People that were at Kaisergarten (a public park near CentrO) had even a better time they said.Overall the Pokemon Go Safari Zone - Oberhausen was ok!How was your experience? via /r/pokemongo http://ift.tt/2x888oa
