#PokemonGO: About halfway through the birds I got bored of legendary raids. For me there wasn't much of a challenge in tapping your screen with 10 other people and landing great curve balls afterwards. I personally found being able to solo T3 raids much more rewarding.This is why I got pretty frustrated when I realized, about 2-3 weeks ago, that I couldn't solo vaporeon even at L37. At this point I had been successful with machamp and gengar but had no luck with vape. It was really frustrating because I thought it would be a piece of cake with my maxed out 98% ZC Zapdos. I went out and did maybe 5-6 eggy raids and invested some stardust in a couple of them. Perhaps more importantly I TM'd zap cannon to thunderbolt on my zapdos and thunder to discharge on my jolteon. My final team that successfully did it was:Victreebel: CP1972, L32.5, 15/14/7 (80%), RL/SolarZapdos: CP3250, L38.5, 15/15/14 (98%), TBJolteon: CP2399, L32.5, 14/13/13 (89%), DEggy: CP2454, L30, 11/15/14 (89%), BS/SolarEggy: CP2702, L36.5, 12/14/11 (82%), BS/SolarEggy: CP2469, L30, 14/13/14 (91%), BS/Seed (not used)Boss had aqua tail and I tanked everything except maybe for one in the beginning to pull off another solar beam with Victreebel. I based much of my final team off the results of the simulation. People made me doubt my choice of victreebel (see post) but it was consistently ranked among the top 6 in simulation, so I kept it.Zap cannon is SUPER slow. Though it's satisfying to watch a chunk of health taken off your enemy in one shot, I could only pull off 1 or maybe 2 charged moves before dying. With TB though I think I pulled off 5 or 6.Solar beam is uncontested. There's just not another grass move that's remotely close. Even a solar beam with mediocre IV pokemon will be much faster than say petal blizzard on a perfect Venusaur.IVs don't matter THAT much. I didn't have the time to wait for a perfect eggy to power up and TM to solar beam, so I ended up powering an 89% that only has atk = 11. This eggy was vital to my success. Movesets matter way more.Boss moveset made it easier. This time I had aqua tail, which is probably much easier to solo than hydro pump. I think with this team I would've still made it with HP but definitely not with 16 seconds left.I found it really fun to go from not being able to solo any T3 bosses (not even machamp) to slowly covering all the ones that are actually doable. Next on my list is Arcanine. I think I'm just one or two fast TMs away (which I already have) from being able to do it. Alakazam though...
