"How every ability could work in PoGo: Meowth-Starmie"

#PokemonGO: If you read my last post at http://ift.tt/2fxAYqh you can skip the intro and go straight to abilities. It's the same as last time.Frequently, when gen 3 is discussed, so are abilities as abilities are integral to the balance of many Pokemon in the gen. But many argue that adding abilities would be way too much as it would require a speed stat, status effects, stat changes, etc. I propose a looser adaptation of every ability. These are my ideas for Pokemon 52-121. There is also the matter of hidden abilities to attend to. In the core series games, HAs were only obtainable through events, breeding, the Entree Forest, Hidden Grottos, Horde Encounters, or SOS battles. I propose the Pokemon from eggs and Raid Bosses have a 10% chance of having an HA. Additionally, Pokemon from nests could have a small chance of having an HA. This fits with the idea of hordes and specific locations. To work, my ability suggestions would require stat changes. I believe this is entirely possible because Ditto already changes its base Attack and Defense but not Stamina when it enters battle, indicating to me that Niantic is perfectly capable of having Pokemon's base stats temporarily change mid-battle. They would also require Pokemon's moves to change based on external factors (not mid-battle) to have different animation times and or base damage. Lastly, it would require that Pokemon with different abilities have their type effectiveness interactions directly modified.Limber: This Pokemon gains +1 resistance to electric attacks.Pickup: Every time this Pokemon finds a candy while buddied, it also finds one random item per km walked since last candy that can be spun from a Pokestop.Technician: This Pokemon gains 25% more energy with its quick moves.Cloud Nine: Negates the effects of Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning affecting the opponent's party.Swift Swim: If in the same gym or party as a Pokemon with Drizzle, its attacks have their animation time and energy gain halved.Vital Spirit: This Pokemon loses motivation at half the usual rate and berries have double the effect on it.Anger Point: When this Pokemon has less than 1/3 of its motivation remaining, its base attack is quadrupled.Defiant: When this Pokemon is knocked out of a gym, it has a 10% chance to get powered up once automatically for free.Justified: When this Pokemon switches in against a dark type, its base attack is increased by 25%.Water Absorb: This Pokemon gains +2 resistances to water.Drizzle: This ability serves only to activate Forecast, Hydration, Rain Dish, and Swift Swim.Synchronize: When this Pokemon is knocked out of a gym, it returns with 20 stardust for each berry it was fed by another trainer.Trace: Copies the ability of the foe it switches in against for the duration of the battle.Steadfast: Every time this Pokemon is hit by an undodged charge move, its base attack increases by 20%.Gluttony: This Pokemon can eat 20 berries at a time. Berries also have doubled effect when catching a wild Pokemon with Gluttony.Clear Body: Prevents stat reduction due to ability and +1 resistance to normal and fighting.Liquid Ooze: All of this Pokemon's attacks deal poison-type damage.Rock Head: This Pokemon gains +1 resistance to Rock.Sturdy: When this Pokemon should be KO'd, it gains 5 seconds of invulnerability before getting KO'd. (Allows it to use one more charge move)Flame Body: Damaging this Pokemon has a 10% chance to result in damage equivalent to an Ember from this Pokemon.Oblivious: Nullifies the effects of all abilities which reduce this Pokemon's base attack.Own Tempo: This Pokemon automatically returns from a gym when no more coins can be collected. If placed in a gym after daily coins have been collected, it waits until the following day for the ability to take effect.Regenerator: When this Pokemon is switched out without feinting, it regains 1/3 of its HP. Only works once per battle.Shell Armor: This Pokemon gains a permanent 30% increase in base defense.Magnet Pull: Opposing steel types cannot switch out.Analytic: This Pokemon's attacks do 25% increased damage against Pokemon it has battled before.Early Bird: If it is before sunrise but after midnight, this Pokemon's attacks do 50% more damage.Hydration: If this Pokemon is in the same gym as a Pokemon with Drizzle, its base HP is increased by 50%.Ice Body: If this Pokemon is in the same gym as a Pokemon with Snow Warning, its base HP is increased by 50%.Sticky Hold: When this Pokemon returns from a gym, it returns with items equivalent to one spin of the gym's photo disc.Poison Touch: This Pokemon's Poison Jab attack does 75% more damage.Skill Link: This Pokemon's damage is increased by 5% for every other Pokemon in the same gym as it.Overcoat: This Pokemon's motivation is invisible.Levitate: This Pokemon gains +2 resistances to ground.Cursed Body: No charge moves can be used against this Pokemon. Raid bosses cannot have this ability.Shadow Tag: Unless the opponent also has Shadow Tag, they cannot switch out.Weak Armor: When this Pokemon is below 50% motivation, its move animation times are halved but so is its base defense.Insomnia: This Pokemon's motivation decay is doubled at night.Forewarn: This Pokemon issues an alert when enemy players are within range of the gym.Hyper Cutter: Any move with "Cut," "Slash," or "Scissor" in the name has its damage increased by 30%.Soundproof: While this Pokemon is in a party attacking a gym, there is no under attack animation.Aftermath: When this Pokemon feints, the Pokemon that KO'd it takes 25% of their max HP as damage.Harvest: When this Pokemon is kicked from a gym, it returns with every berry it was fed by another trainer.Lightning Rod: This Pokemon gains +2 resistances to electric.Reckless: This Pokemon's attacks do 40% more damage when facing an opponent with super-effective moves.Unburden: This Pokemon sends home a coin every ten minutes. No coins are given when it is kicked. It cannot exceed the daily limit.Iron Fist: All of this Pokemon's moves have a 0.9 second animation time.Natural Cure: Every time it receives a berry, this Pokemon's motivation decay slows by 1% for one hour. It stacks.Serene Grace: There are no breaks between this Pokemon's attacks on defense. Its HP is not doubled, however.Leaf Guard: Of this Pokemon is in the same gym or party as a Pokemon with Drought, its base defense is temporarily increased by 30%.Scrappy: This Pokemon's normal and fighting moves do 1x damage against ghost types.Water Veil: This Pokemon gains +1 resistance to electric.Illuminate: This Pokemon functions like incense every time it finds a candy while buddied. ONLY WORKS AT NIGHT. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2hBAJPi
