"I don’t think we will see Generation 4 remakes until 2019 at the earliest."

I had a random thought come into my head and I think it is unlikely we will see generation 4 remakes until 2019 at the earliest.When looking back at past releases, the previous 2 handhelds have had 2 generations each (The NDS having gen 4 and 5. The 3DS having gen 6 and 7)When we look at the releases for the NDS we had the gen 4 games released (with a special edition a year later) and then gen 2 remakes. At the time of Black and White it was widely believed that gen 3 remakes would come next, but instead we got sequels to Black and White.This pattern seems to be emerging with the 3DS. With the release of X and Y, then gen 3 remakes and now Sun and Moon.From what we have been told of US/UM is that these games are sequels per se, but are a slightly different story to S/M.We know that new main series game(s) are being developed for the Switch. With the announcement of US/UM this is likely to be gen 8.If the pattern is followed we might see the new switch edition(s) in 2018 with a remake of gen 4 coming the following year in 2019 and if we want to speculate further. Gen 9 will be released in 2021 again on the Switch.But at the same time we have seen release patterns change so there is nothing to say they won’t change again.Thoughts? via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2fovlur
