"[Idea] Keeping the pros of eggs without the cons"

#PokemonGO: Eggs are good because nobody wants to attack a gym / walk to a gym to add their Pokémon and then see an unannounced raid boss popping up and wasting their (albeit small) effort. It's good to have at least 15-20 minutes of "gym time" in order to finish what was planned!Short raiding times are bad for organized groups because it takes some time to find enough people and travel there. Knowing the boss 2 hours before the end of the raid would be better for them!Eggs + short raiding times are good for (city) players outside organized groups because they can just show up when the egg hatches and they may find enough people to do the raid. A 20-minute raiding window would be even better for them! Why can't we have the best of both worlds? My proposal: instead of an egg with an unknown raid boss, the raid boss should be revealed before the actual raid can start. That would mean:1) People interested in just the gym can finish attacking and/or adding defenders (I don't mind about that not counting for the raid Gym Control bonus).2) Organized raiding groups can plan in advance depending on the raid boss. Some are interested in Tyranitar but will pass up on a Charizard. Others may want to do the Charizard too. Seeing a level-4 egg is not helpful. Knowing what will spawn without being able to raid it immediately is already very helpful.3) Isolated players can show up when the raid starts and they will probably find other isolated players or an organized raid group.A workaround to make at least 1) and 2) happy would be having a 20-minute egg and a 2-hour raid (easier to implement for Niantic). But since I was a 3) for a long time (now I'm more of a 2)), I know that the best thing would be having a 2-hour "egg" with the raid boss already known, and a 20-minute raid timer. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2wNJ33F
