"To the community, from Florida, thank you. You're awesome. We'll survive."

#PokemonGO: This morning way down here in Florida we woke up to news, lots and lots of news, about Irma. How it was turning, how it was churning, how it was getting stronger and stronger and how we really ought to take this seriously, NOW.And in the local Discord group the chatter changed, organically, to what we all are worried about. So they added a channel, a Hurricane Info channel, for everyone to communicate.Since then there has been updates all day on where there is gas, where there is bread and ice and water, in real time as it shows up and runs out at stores all over the city, just like raid bosses coming and going. It's a living network of players helping each other out, in ways so much more important than taking down a Raikou. They're sharing knowledge and graphics and literally food and water so they have what they may need.I'm astonished by how excellent this network is for this purpose and I'm so happy you're doing it. It makes me feel less alone. And less scared. And I am alone and scared. I just want to thank you all and wish you the best through this. Maybe nothing happens at all... and that would be great. But if it does, we'll get through this as we do when faced with any monstrous adversary - together. As always, good luck, be safe, and Happy Hunting. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2wJsT9M
