"There are actually two different flavors of the dodge bug (death loop)"

#PokemonGO: By now, anyone who battles or raids has probably witnessed the dodge bug at least once. The flavor that I see most commonly mentioned goes something like this:Defender (or raid boss) uses a charge moveAttacker dodgesDue to some combination of lag and client/server sync issues, dodge is not registeredIf attacker would have died from full charge damage, attacker faints. If attacker would not have died from full charge damage, full charge damage registers, then 3/4 of that health lost is "credited back" shortly after, once the dodge successfully registers. The above is annoying, but players can switch to their next attacker and continue about their business. The second flavor I observed more recently but don't see mentioned much, goes something like this:Player attacks a raid boss as normalRaid boss uses several charge moves over the course of battleDue to some combination of lag/poor network connectivity, one or more of those charge moves become desynced to the battle animations.Charge move(s) seems to come out of nowhere and hit the attacker here's the devastating partIf the attacker faints, all damage the attacker has done from the time the charge move was originally supposed to hit, to when it actually hits, gets nullified. The raid boss's hp will actually go up in this case. This means you can be mid-battle, think you're doing fine, then your attacker will just die seemingly for no reason. To add insult to injury, some to all the damage you've done with that attacker gets nullified, but you don't get the time back. This glitch can singlehandedly change victory to defeat in close raids. An even nastier continuation of this is if it causes the raid boss to effectively launch two full bar charge moves in a row. I've had two tyranitar killed off in 3 seconds this way by focus blast alakazam, with the "ghost" charge killing off the first, then the next tyranitar switching in right as the second charge hits.I'm curious if others have noticed the same thing, but if you're failing close raids and noticing chunks of hp missing inexplicably or attackers switching in without full hp bars, this bug might be responsible. Keep an eye on the raid boss hp and you may notice it going up during the fight. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2xwZ5AF
