"Current Solo Level 3 Raid Guides - Level 35 Trainer"

#PokemonGO: Hi Everyone, This is my first post on reddit and I think I’ve got everything formatted right. If I don’t, I’ll fix it as I go. I’ve had success soloing all of the available level 3 raids (both before the switch and now after) and wanted to share some insight as to how I go about doing them. I’ve included all of my teams (includes cp, pokemon level, ivs, and moveset) in case you want to try to do something similar. I’ve only included current raid bosses in order of easiest to hardest. Some things to be aware of upfront:EDITED TO INCLUDE IV STATS Phone = Samsung Galaxy J7I typically don’t power up more than 1-2 of each species so my teams are pretty diverse. Exceptions were made for Tyranitar (2 of each moveset).I only power up pokemon I know I will be maxing out eventually.I am currently a level 35 trainer about to hit level 36 in a couple of days. Some of these raids were done a few days apart. I have powered up a few in between successful runs for different bosses. General Raid StrategiesAll of my pokemon will have optimal movesets unless otherwise noted. This makes a world of difference.I typically will only use 3 pokemon with one bar charge moves. I've found that when you have more than 3 pokemon with one bar charge moves, it takes too long to fire them off and you end up dying and missing out on damage. If it is a glass cannon its okay, but otherwise I try to keep an even split.I aim to fire off at least two 1 bar charge moves per pokemon to have a successful raid. With 2 bar charge moves I aim for 4+ depending on the move and pokemon.I have powered up my pokemon past level 30 and some are maxed for level. I loose out on 6-10 seconds on almost every raid between starting at 177-174 and ending between 0-5 seconds. I try to make sure I can win a raid with 170 seconds just to cover my bases.Pokebattler.com is a wonderful resource and I have used it extensively to make sure I can solo the raid before I try it. If you haven't played around with it you should.I typically start with a 1 bar charge move pokemon. There are a couple of reasons for this. First, because the raid boss attacks twice first, you get more energy. I also know that if I don't fire off a second charge move, I can usually stop the raid right there. The downside to this is depending on the raid bosses charge move, you can sometimes loose out on energy gain as they fire off their first charge move close to the same time you fire yours. Just depends what they have.I tank (don't dodge) most attacks. I like the energy gain I get from them and need it most of the time. I only dodge if it will allow me to fire off another charge move and I know the raid boss can't fire off another charge move back to back and kill me anyway. Raid Boss: Porygon  Difficulty: Very EasyPokemon Used:PokemonCPPokemon LevelIVIV StatsMove-setTyranitar344236.589%14/13/13Bite/CrunchDragonite338136.596%14/15/14Dragon Tail/OutrageMachamp26643596%14/14/15Counter/Dynamic PunchDragonite312231.593%15/15/12Dragon Tail/OutrageRaikou28643098%15/14/15Thundershock/Wild ChargeDragonite30323173%15/6/12Dragon Tail/Outrage Time Completed: 30 Seconds  Notes: Way easier than I thought. Didn't make it past my 3rd pokemon. Anything that deals decent DPS will work against him. My first dragonite lasted forever and did a ton of damage.Team Pic  End Screen Raid Boss: Scyther  Difficulty: EasyPokemon Used:PokemonCPPokemon LevelIVIV StatsMove-setGolem270835100%15/15/15Rock Throw/Stone EdgeMoltres28663293%12/15/15Firespin/OverheatTyranitar32143289%15/12/13Bite/Stone EdgeRaikou28643098%15/14/15Thundershock/Wild ChargeTyranitar30213062%15/13/0Bite/Stone EdgeZapdos28403096%15/15/13Charge Beam / Thunderbolt Time Completed: 28 Seconds  Notes: Again, easier than I thought. Stone edge does a huge chunk of damage. Didn't make it to the last two pokemon. The legendaries did some work as well. Moltres was fun to use for this battle.  Team Pic  End Screen Raid Boss: Machamp  Difficulty: Easy (with correct counters)Pokemon Used:PokemonCPPokemon LevelIVIV StatsMove-setEspeon24512989%14/12/14Confusion/Future SightAlakazam273336.597%14/15/15Psycho Cut/Future SightEspeon278835.596%15/15/13Confusion/Future SightExeggutor26633589%13/12/15Confusion/Solar BeamEspeon24613071%7/9/15Confusion/Future SightLugia305730.587%13/13/13Extrasensory/Future Sight Time Completed: 20ish Seconds  Notes: This would be the exception to the rule about one bar charge moves. Almost all glass canons have Future Sight on this squad. The espeons do work, but you have to get off two future sights each. The Exeggutor is legacy (with Confusion) but Solar Beam is an orbital nuke of an attack and does a ton of damage. The Lugia is the "anchor", but I honestly don't need him most of the time. I've completed over 25 machamp raids and find them fun. The beginning was hard as I didn't have 3 Espons with future sight.  Team Pic  End Screen Raid Boss: Gengar  Difficulty: EasyPokemon Used:PokemonCPPokemon LevelIVIV StatsMove-setTyranitar32143289%15/12/13Bite/Stone EdgeGengar22073089%14/13/13Hex/ShadowballDragonite338136.596%14/15/14Dragon Tail/OutgrageTyranitar31293087%15/10/14Bite/CrunchEspeon270333.595%15/15/13Confusion/Future SightTyranitar31313089%14/13/13Bite/Crunch Time Completed: 15 Seconds  Notes: Since completing this raid, I've powered up all of the Tyranitars and the Espeon. I don't feel like this team was optimized when I completed this raid and would just be easier now. The Gengar usually only gets to fire off two shadowballs. Isn't a very difficult raid and you can also use some of the same pokemon that you used for the Machamp Raid.  Team Pic  End Screen Raid Boss: Alakazam  Difficulty: HardPokemon Used:PokemonCPPokemon LevelIVIV StatsMove-setGengar22443189%14/13/13Hex/ShadowballTyranitar344236.589%14/13/13Bite/CrunchGengar21993087%13/13/13Hex/ShadowballTyranitar344036.587%15/10/14Bite/CrunchTyranitar32143289%15/12/13Bite/Stone EdgeTyranitar30213062%15/13/0Bite/Stone Edge Time Completed: 9 Seconds  Notes: This raid is slowly getting easier as I power up Bite/Crunch Tyranitars. I still haven't successfully soloed a confusion/focus blast alakazam, but all of the other move-sets I have done. Confusion is definitely harder than Psycho Cut. I now will end with the bite/crunch tyranitars as I lost a few raids waiting for stone edge to fill one last time so I could beat the boss. I like to spam 2-3 bar charge moves near the end of the raid and not waste energy. Difficult boss to beat until I got the Bite/Crunch Tyranitars over 3300.  I forgot to take this team picture.  End Screen Raid Boss: Omastar  Difficulty: Very HardPokemon Used:PokemonCPPokemon LevelIVIV StatsMove-setVenusaur238836.589%13/11/15Vine-Whipe/Solar BeamMachamp272636.595%14/14/15Counter/Dynamic PunchExeggutor272436.589%13/12/15Confusion/Solar BeamRaikou31033598%15/14/15Thundershock/Wild ChargeExeggutor24683089%15/14/11Bullet Seed/Seed BombZapdos28403096%15/15/13Charge Beam / Thunderbolt Time Completed: 1 Second  Notes: Currently the hardest raid for me. I just completed it for the first time last night. Grass attackers are king. I suspect that another Exeggutor would make this easier. Zapdos is the weak link. I fought against Ancient Power and that rock attack destroyed my Zapdos. I think water attacks will be easier, I just haven't found one yet. I spent the most dust trying to conquer this raid boss. I didn't have good grass attackers so I had to power up both the Venusaur and grass Exeggutor. If you look at the end screen, you'll notice I BARELY beat this one. I still need to work on this team. Omastar is a tough nut to crack.  Team Pic  End Screen ** BONUS SECTION: CLOYSTER **Raid Boss: Cloyster  Difficulty: MediumPokemon Used:PokemonCPPokemon LevelIVIV StatsMove-setTyranitar32143289%15/12/13Bite/Stone EdgeRaikou28613098%15/14/15Thundershock/Wild ChargeZapdos28403096%15/15/13Charge Beam / ThunderboltMachamp272636.595%14/14/15Counter/Dynamic PunchVenusaur21553089%13/15/11Vine-Whip/Solar BeamTyranitar30213062%15/13/0Bite/Stone Edge Time Completed: 9 Second  Notes: I only tried this raid because I saw Prodigies Nation fail at it. I tried it Sunday Morning and beat it on my fist try. Not as difficult as I thought it would be after seeing his video. Definitely tough, but I didn't have to power-up anything to complete it.  Team Pic  End Screen If you made it this far, thanks for checking out my solo guide for level 3 raid bosses. This is the end-game for me and actually gets me to play currently. Still haven't received an EX pass and I know that Mewtwo will make a lot of these easier, but I wanted to show what is possible without him.
