"The "point" of the game (or lack thereof)"

#PokemonGO: Firstly, this isn't a complaint thread, just wanted to hear some thoughts from the community about where they feel the direction of the game is headed.Currently, I'm struggling to see any true goals to the game being put in place by Niantic. We're raiding, we're catching some great stuff, but in the end, what are we doing? I could have 6 perfect IVs of every Pokemon in the game, and it wouldn't matter. There's nothing to do with them. Sure, I can deal more damage in raids, or maybe clear gyms a few seconds quicker. There's a level cap of 40 that is probably a goal for everyone (if you're not there yet). But again, there's no point to it unless you have the Stardust to max out a Pokemon. I'm level 35 and I don't think I really have any Pokemon over level 31 or 32. I don't have the resources to do so, and if I did, there still wouldn't be a great advantage to having higher level Pokemon. Some people will say, "you make your own goals and your own end game" but I will make a rebuttal and say that that's bad business design. The raiding scene has already died down substantially, and I don't see a reason to continue spending time and money on more raids where there's nothing to do with them after you catch them.I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I was expecting more RPG elements in this game, but they're simply not there. There's no player battling, trading, quests, or anything like that.So I ask, what keeps you playing this game? Why are you still doing Legendary raids when you already have 10+ of them? What features would you like to see, and what is the point of the game in your mind? via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2y6WREi
