"The Silph Road's APK Teardown of v0.79.4 is complete! This is a complete roll-back of v0.81.1."

#PokemonGO: Alright travelers - we dove under the hood and gave everything a thorough look-through.It appears that v0.79.4 is appropriately named. It's a complete rollback of v0.81.1 as far as we're able to detect. This means the following are not yet in this latest version:the client's ability to power-up an extra half level (39.5)the new Unity version (which fixes the sounds volume conflicts)the eight Gen III move fxthe memory management tweaksthe anti-cheat tweaksYou can find the v0.81.1 APK teardown here for more info on what was rolled back.So ... why?Possibly new bugs were introduced with the Unity upgrade that created high-priority issues on some devices. Upgrading Unity can be a tough project, as Unity doesn't always behave how it should and the multitude of moving pieces in Unity projects can each be affected by migrations. But this is simply our best guess at the reason! Can Those on v0.81 Continue Using It?If you're already on v0.81.1 and your device is having an OK time of it, you'll be able to continue using it (barring a forced downgrade) to take advantage of the audio fix issue which Unity 2017.1 resolved. But if your device is having a rough time on v0.81, the downgrade should be welcome relief. We expect to see an 81.x upgrade out soon to complete the Unity upgrade and who knows... maybe even include the new Gen III moves in the APK's formal moveset list!Either way - we'll be waiting for Thanksgiving hints. :)Travel safe,- Executive Dronpes - via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2j6HUzG
