"Does anyone else think Hydro Pump gets the short end of the stick when compared to Fire Blast, Blizzard, and Thunder?"
Hydro Pump has 80 accuracy and 110 base power, but has no special effect and isn't available by TM. Hardly any non-water type Pokemon get the move (the Salamence line being the one that comes to mind). Compared to its elemental counterparts:Fire Blast is more accurate, has a chance to burn, and has better distribution as a result of being a TM. Not to mention being a fire move lets it hit more types super effectively.Blizzard is only 70% accurate, but gets perfect accuracy under hail, has a chance to freeze, and also has better distribution as a TM.Thunder is similar to Blizzard in that it gains perfect accuracy under rain, but has a far higher chance to paralyze at 30%.Solar Beam requires a charge turn except under sun, but it's also 100% accurate backed with a base 120 power. Aside from Grass types, many fire types can also learn this move to strike water types in the sun. What are your thoughts? If anything, I think Hydro Pump should get at least a slight accuracy boost to 85% to match Fire Blast. They might as well also boost Origin Pulse to 90 or 95 accuracy for Kyogre so that the two moves aren't basically the same attack. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2CbG2hV
