"Playing through SoulSilver again."

This applies to the HeartGold and probably the original Gen 2 games as well. But I find that playing through Johto is extremely tedious and boring. So many of the Pokémon you find are the same few types (normal, water, bug) and are so much weaker than anything the trainers that you'll HAVE to grind to get them up to the right level. There's also a problem with move diversity as well, because of Kanto being in the game too, all of the good TM's are there, so you don't get to have very engaging battles. (It also means going against Clair's dragon types is hugely frustrating because you can't get any substantial dragon type moves before the fight, nor are there any good Ice Types to use. My final complaint would be that there aren't any trainers on victory road (aside from your rival) and all the wild pokemon are weak, meaning there aren't any good chances to train or level up without tediously fighting the same Golbats or Gravellers. It makes revisiting Kanto really exciting, but at the cost of a lackluster main story playthrough. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2A7uabu
