"The name 'Adaptability' doesn't suit the effects of the Ability itself"

Here's something that has bothered me for a long time. Adaptability is an Ability that raises the STAB bonus from 50% to 100%. Basically, this means the Pokémon becomes better at using moves of its own type, and therefore becomes more one-dimensional in a way. Now, the Oxford dictionary has the following two definitions for the word 'adaptability':The quality of being able to adjust to new conditions. The capacity to be modified for a new use or purpose. This implies versatility. In a Pokémon context, it implies the ability to adapt to all new opponents. This, in turn, would suggest that the Pokémon is good at using coverage moves, as opposed to STAB moves, which is the opposite of what Adaptability does.I think Adaptability should boost the power of non-STAB moves by 50% (or 33%, if 50 is too much), and a new Ability called 'Specialist' should take its place as an Ability that boosts the power of STAB moves. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2ACDMOy
