"With the release of the legendary pokemon and inevitable power creep, do you think Niantic ever allow Legendaries to be added to gyms as defenders? Would you be in support of this change?"
#PokemonGO: When legendaries were first released, this topic was discussed briefly and largely dismissed because of how lacking in diversity gyms would be. People were picturing gyms lined with Mewtwo's, Lugia's, and other powerful legendaries which would lead to a boring game-state.Since then, the motivation decay has made the gym defender system is essentially non-existent. Blissey and Chansey seem to be the only relevant defensive mons and are seen in mostly every single gym, beyond them a spattering of snorlax, vaporeon, and the like. Often time gyms are inhabited by throw-away mons as potions and revives are being distributed in shorter supply. It seems like having gym diversity isn't as big of a critique of including legendaries with the current gym/motivation decay system. Now we are dealing with the issue of extremely powerful pokemon, with all 5 of the highest CP pokemon in the game being released over the past few months. As if gyms were difficult to take down before, they have now become easier to defeat then ever. The discussion of a gym rework has been discussed a lot, but there are a few legendaries that could really shake up the gym defense meta. What are your thoughts on allowing Legendaries to be allowed as gym defenders? via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2AVlPb8
