"A deeper look at defensive breakpoints (against Rayquaza)"

#PokemonGO: tl;dr : jump to the examples in the last paragraphsAll of Rayquaza's charge moves require low energy (33% or 50%), which is something we haven't seen since before Ho-Oh, Groudon and Kyogre. That means Rayquaza will perform several charge moves in a row and this will happen very often. So I've taken a look at defensive breakpoints for Rayquaza's charge moves, starting with Jynx (reminder : glass-cannon, strongest DPS against Rayquaza)I've combined all the breakpoints into one picture (ugh, it turned a little more nerdy than I thought it would), here's how to read it :The 1st table (blue) is the classic offensive breakpoints (Jynx/FrostBreath)The 2nd table (green) is the HP breakpoints. We'll use it later (point 5)The next two tables (orange) are the defensive breakpoints for Rayquaza's fast moves (DragonTail, AirSlash). InterestingThe next tables (red), vertically, are the defensive breakpoints for Rayquaza's charge moves (Outrage, AerialAce, AncientPower)Finally, the last tables (purple) are kind of breakpoints tables that show how many charge moves you can take before dying. In each cell, the first number is the amount of charge moves you can take, and the second number is the amount of fast moves you can take with the remaining hp (assumed you have max HP possible). Warning : the vertical axis is now the HP and not the level -> refer to the HP tables (green) to find a corresponding level. So for example, in the case of Outrage/AirSlash, a maxed Jynx 100% can resist an Outrage AND a fast move.So let's take an example : you have a Jynx 91% with 15/12/14 at level 29.Following the common Offensive breakpoints table, you want to power it up to level 30 for the breakpoint for Frost Breath. (you also jump a breakpoint against Dragon Tail, but that won't matter a lot). Now, if you power it up a couple more times to level 31, you will be able to resist two AerialAce instead of one, AND also able to resist one Outrage (in case your Jynx joins the battle and eats an Outrage right away). This provides you generous extra time to deal more damage which is very significant for a glass-cannon, especially considering the damage taken will boost your energy.Edit : here's the one for Articuno and Piloswine (PDF format, sorry... does anyone know how to print a googlesheet into a picture (without having to merge printscreens) ? :@ ) via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2ntD7Hc
