"Analysis of Ditto and Other Defenders"

#PokemonGO: Lately, as gym activity has slowed down in my area, I have been dropping dittos into gyms more frequently as long as I'm not first. They have a low CP to keep their motivation high longer, and they will likely get a boost during battle. In addition, there is a good chance the attacker will be not very effective against itself, prompting a switch. Today I finally got around to applying numbers to it. I decided to test ditto, as a few of the most common generalists, against some of the best defenders. The only exception is lugia, to see what ditto is like with its massive defense stat. I conducted two separate tests: One where the defenders are level 30 and the other where all of the defenders initially have 500 cp. With each test, I calculated the tankiness of the pokemon in the first battle, and estimated the relative time it would take to knock it out of the gym. All defenders are assumed to have perfect IVs.Level 30 Tankiness - http://ift.tt/2Ccp52t about the 15 hour mark, most of the ditto forms have pulled ahead of azumarill and the other defenders besides wobbuffet and chansey. At about the 25th hour, the dittos start to fall below the fully demotivated blissey.Level 30 Time to Defeat - http://ift.tt/2CGv1lK the 9th hour, the dittos have surpassed azumarill. At the 18th and 23rd hour, the dittos pass even chansey and wobbuffet, respectively. They remain at the top for about an hour before taking only one battle to defeat and dropping down to everything else.500 CP Tankiness - http://ift.tt/2CdEgIW CP Time to Defeat - http://ift.tt/2CHgyGa of these graphs show ditto being on par with, if not better than, chansey and wobbuffet, when CP is normalisedConclusion/TLDRWhen looked at from a common level, ditto is often behind chansey and wobbuffet, but a good alternative, even beating azumarill in most cases. When compared at the same CP, ditto can easily be better than even chansey or wobbuffet. Here is the spreadsheet I made: http://ift.tt/2CgRFjv is my first major analysis, so please correct me if I made any mistakes.Edit: formatting via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2CBjnbu
