"Anyone else's spawns take forever to load?"

#PokemonGO: Lately (around when gen 3 came out, maybe earlier) when I load up the game spawns take 5-10 minutes to appear. All pokestops and gyms load up and work fine, but Pokemon don't. I have to sit with the game open for awhile before they will appear. And if I navigate to another app or exceed the speed limit (anything that would cause spawns to reload) I have to wait again. If they even show up at all, sometimes I have to shut down/restart the game.My gf plays with me and doesn't seem to have this issue, and we're both using Samsung Galaxy S6's. Haven't seen anyone else complain about it so maybe it's a client-side issue, I just can't figure out what.EDIT: My phone was not set to automatic date and time, I fixed that so hopefully that does the trick.
