"I made a new Pokemon Theory concerning Tangela. Let me know what you think!"

Tangela/Tangrowth and Deoxys are the same pokemon. There are two main theories to explain the origin of Tangela / Tangrowth and Deoxys, but first I will go over the almost indisputable connection that they have to one another.Tangela’s true form / inner self has never been seen, and the only observable characteristic of it’s inner self is it’s eyes. These are set back into the vines, and the rest of its body is covered by its vines. Deoxys shares these same eyes, and they too appear to be set back a little behind the armor-like material of its body. Both Tangela and Deoxys possess thin blue appendages that they use to strike with. Also, Tangela’s shoes are almost the same red color as Deoxys’s armor-like material, which leads me to believe that it is the same material. So design wise they are similar, but what else is there? Well, to explain that, I’ll go over all three forms. In the case of Tangela, it is relatively vulnerable and tries to protect itself using its “vines”. I don’t believe these are actually vines, not natural vines anyways. No other pokemon that use vines for attacks are any color but green. I believe Tangela’s vines are created using the same cellular powers that Deoxys uses. In Tangela’s pokedex entries, it states that the vines are very easy to grow back if they are damaged / cut off. Its reasonable to say that this is due to the same regenerative powers that Deoxys has.Tangrowth is much the same, in Pokedex entries and design. “Losing arms to predators does not trouble it” , “They grow back right away if cut”. Upon evolving into Tangrowth, there aren’t any major form changes. It gets bigger with more vines, it’s feet change shape, and some of its vines are encased in the red material that it shares with Deoxys. Both Tangela and Tangrowth get the regenerator hidden ability, further supporting that there is a link to Deoxys. Now, although design-wise Deoxys and the Tangela line are very similar, Deoxys has a lot of additional things that need to be explained. Firstly, Deoxys is far more powerful than Tangela / Tangrowth. I believe this is due to the gem / crystal that is socketed in its chest. In its dex entries, it states that “An alien virus that fell to earth on a meteor underwent a DNA mutation to become this Pokémon”. It seems to be that the meteor (which contained the gem) was the reason Deoxys came to be, and the catalyst for causing the alien virus to mutate. Therefore, the meteor / gem / crystal must contain considerable power.Deoxys can regenerate much faster than the Tangela line, and it also possesses the psychic type, rather than the grass type that the Tangela line has. However, this is again due to Deoxys’ gem. The reason for Tangela’s and Tangrowth’s grass typing is due to them not having the gem. Without it, their cellular abilities aren’t as strong as Deoxys’, and they can only produce plant cells easily, leading to their vines and grass moves, as well as typing. Now, as said before, there are two strong theories as to how Tangela / Tangrowth and Deoxys are actually related / connected / the same Pokemon.Theory One is that Tangela is the result of Deoxys’ arms being cut off and regenerating into Tangela, which then further reproduce to make more Tangela. The reason ancient power is required to evolve to Tangrowth is that it shares enough properties with the meteor / gem Deoxys has to enhance Tangelas power and evolve. I’m not sure whether Tangrowth could use ancient power to develop Deoxys’ gem for itself and become a Deoxys, or if Tangrowth is the furthest it can go.Theory Two is that when the meteor mentioned in Deoxys’ dex entry hit, it hit a Tangela or Tangrowth, and the alien virus and meteor gem combined with Tangelas DNA which resulted in Deoxys.I know this is a lot to read, but to those who do, let me know what you think. There’s a lot here, and ordering / structuring it so that it flows well was difficult, but I tried to do it the best I could. If anyone has anything to add, or anything to disprove it, let me know in the comments. Thanks a bunch. via /r/pokemon http://ift.tt/2DZZdfj
