"[Story] [Crosspost] The first "Giovanni's Nidoking" Raid at Tokyo Skytree was kind of insane"

#PokemonGO: (Slightly edited from my original post, crossposted because of a request in the original thread!)Original photo: https://i.redd.it/qnrvu61gbii01.jpg There had to be a few hundred people around; the store clerks tried to cram everyone into the store but it was impossible, and they spilled out into the mall areas. Over the speaker there was an announcer “commentating” the battle, although I don’t know if they were actually watching a specific fight since the battles ended really quickly, of course. Afterwards, everyone lined up as best they could to get their reward stickers. It was a bit of a bummer that Giovanni himself isn’t anywhere on the sticker, but oh well. Also, to be clear, there was nothing special about the raid itself - no special dialog, images, or animations, nothing in-game to tell you it was “Giovanni’s”, etc. So it wasn’t like this was a test-run of Quests or anything. Same deal for the caught Nidoking - no special moves, sprite, etc. I wasn't really expecting anything special since the ad I saw just advertised the sticker, but an event-limited move or something would have been really neat. Still a fun experience though! Here are a couple more photos from the event:Another shot of the crowd: http://ift.tt/2BOwxDT Defeat shot: http://ift.tt/2osa7AJ of the sticker lines: http://ift.tt/2BRBYlf angle of the same sticker line: http://ift.tt/2ou8iTO the sticker: https://ibb.co/bY0ucc Original post: http://ift.tt/2BRSmCv Also, if I had to guess, the whole reason for these events is some kind of tie-in with the "Secret Teams" line of goods the Pokemon Center is selling right now: http://ift.tt/2osV21M EDIT 2:Raid start: http://ift.tt/2BTmeOD screen: http://ift.tt/2ox6QQT http://ift.tt/2BSIGaX 3:The advertisement online (in Japanese) http://ift.tt/2orLlRe "rewards" section just says that you get a Nidoking sticker, and that it's a not-for-sale item in limited quantities, 1 per person. The ad also mentions that this Nidoking will be stronger than normal, which I guess is in line with it lasting over a minute against a full raid party? via /r/TheSilphRoad http://ift.tt/2BRllq4
