"Older Fans, Why Do You Still Love Pokemon?"

I was a kid during the 90s when Pokemon was at it's peak and virtually every child was obsessed with it. Now, 22 years later, most of those children have grown out of it, but I never did. It's a franchise whose primary audience is children, so what do you see in it that keeps you interested as an adult?I asked myself this question the other day and I guess I would say it's because I find the world incredibly compelling. I love the atmosphere and I love encountering, collecting, and battling intelligent creatures who become your friends. It's all very wholesome. It also helps with my Japanese, and keeps my interest in the language and culture alive. I follow the anime in Japanese and although Ash hasn't aged a day in 21 years, he's a familiar face I like seeing. Finally, I enjoy the competitive aspect of Pokemon. Having intense battles with players all over the world via Battle Spot forces me to think, weigh risks, making estimates, etc. I really love it, and I wonder if I'll be 50 and still in love with Pokemon. via /r/pokemon https://ift.tt/2F4JGqm
