#PokemonGO: I sent two support tickets regarding the Special Research being permanent and the OSM Foundation collaboration.They confirmed "Special Research is not an event so it will be in Pokémon GO for a longer period."They also answered my other support ticket in the same email saying, "Yes, the collaboration news is correct.
