"Is this the first time Niantic is getting solid data on the player base?"
#PokemonGO: Just a thought I had, thinking back on everything. In the early days we had the explosion of GO popularity that slowly died down. We had the widespread usage of sites like Pokevision and their bots to show spawns. We had many maps and bots that ran temporarily, knowing they would be banned and replaced with a new bot within a day or so. With the recent changes to encryption that has (likely for now) killed all botting for maps, I feel like this is the first time in the game's history that Niantic can get clear data on the players as a whole. I'm sure they had ways prior to parse some non-human and unusual accounts out of their overall info, but right now there is no need. Also might help them better track the ways we play. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2jA0Fsl
