Personally, I'm fairly optimistic about these new games mainly because they are confirmed spinoffs.They're a fun new way to get kids into the first generation of pokémon as well as finally creating a connection to pokemon Go, which IIRC, was briefly mentioned before Go's launch. I'm sure these games have and will get plenty of hate, but I think these games will be a fun way to hold us over until the second half of 2019 when Gen VIII or Sinnoh remakes or whatever Game Freak has in store is revealed.
