"A Case Against Raikou: Why you shouldn't power Raikou up [GamePress]"
#PokemonGO: Link to ArticleRaikou’s return to Pokemon GO is a great opportunity for players to get their dex entry without having to spend buckets of stardust in trades. However, trainers who plan on powering up Raikou for battle should be aware that Raikou is no longer the ubiquitous raider it once was. Before powering up your first, second, third, etc Raikou, you may want to consider these points against Raikou:Points Against RaikouLow Current Raid UsageFP Venusaur and A-Exeggutor handling Water-typesSD Tyranitar and A-Golem handling Flying-typesThe threat Electivire and Magnezone pose as competitionExtremely low Gen 4 raid viability Raikou isn’t the worst idea ever however and is still a tier 2 Pokemon by GamePress’s standards, should you want to invest.Points For RaikouStill best Electric-type for generations to come (Zekrom Gen 5 maybe)Still the best Water-type counter overallGreat gym usageBest Lugia counterLooks really coolOverall, Raikou is still a very powerful Pokemon. What I’m advocating is for players to hold out on spending their hard earned stardust until either Raikou is a top counter to a current raid or until we find out what’s happening with Electivire and Magnezone. I know many of us have bags of stardust to spend, but <400K players that are under the impression that Raikou is a great investment should be aware. At launch Raikou was pretty dang important, now it’s more of a premium option. Also it’s pronounced “Rai-KOH” not “Rai-Kuu.” Get it right or pay the price. This ain’t kingdom hearts. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/940bkb/a_case_against_raikou_why_you_shouldnt_power/?utm_source=ifttt
