"CAUTION when evolving Eevee to Umbreon/Espeon"

#PokemonGO: PSA: watch out for incorrect buddy distance tracking.Story:I found a rather unfortunate bug with buddy pokémon and distance tracking. I walked a shiny Eevee after Community Day in order to evolve an Espeon. I checked the buddy distance and it said I had walked 12.3 km. I went to the buddy screen and clicked evolve. You can imagine my surprise when it popped out a Jolteon. I was sure it said 12.3 km but my new Jolteon said it had only been walked 7.3 km.I didn't have a picture from before evolving so you'll have to take my word on it but I made sure to screenshot it on the second Eevee. This time I walked the Eevee over 20 km just to be safe. Luckily this time it correctly evolved into an Espeon but again, it lost 5 km on the evolve.I submitted the bug to niantic but figured a PSA might save someone else from wasting their best Eevee on something they didn't intend to get.Edit: To clarify, both eevees had been walked 10+km in one go, first had received 2 candies, second had received 5 candies.
