"[Numbers!] Sky attack will be interesting"

#PokemonGO: Howdy Travellers!I took some time to check how will Sky Attack perform on our future chickens Moltres. The results are really interesting. Thanks to the wonderful GamePress' DPS spreadsheet (https://ift.tt/2BWy9wZ) I've cruched some numbers. Here we go!GENERALISTFirst of all I've checked in against a neutral foe: the overall DPS will grow a bit (+7%). Sunny closes the gap putting Overheat #1, windy just opens it by a lot (obviously):Sky Attack - Neutral defenderSky Attack - Neutral defender + SunnySo now let's check the Generalists leaderboard (if sunny, is good enough, if windy, not even top 10).Sky Attack - New Generalist leaderboardSky Attack - New Generalist leaderboard + SunnySky Attack - New Generalist leaderboard + WindyVS FIRE- & FLYING- WEAK POKEMONThen I've check against a foe both weak to fire and flying (like grass or bug), and also here Sky Attack will give us, obviously, the same damage bump (+7%), but just to look at the numbers (they are basically the neutral ones x1.4 more or less) :Sky Attack - Fire+flying weaknessHere a general leaderboard against flying- & fire- weak foes like grass (also with weather boost):Sky attack - VS grassSky attack - VS grass + SunnySky attack - VS grass + WindyVS FLYING- WEAK POKEMONAfter that it's time to check against flying-weak only foes (like fighting). Here the bump is pretty huge (+31,87%):Sky Attack - Flying weakness onlyHere a general leaderboard against flying-weak foes like fighting (also with weather boost), Moltres holds up pretty well!Sky attack - VS fightingSky attack - VS fighting + SunnySky attack - VS fighting + windyVS FIRE- WEAK POKEMONViceversa against fire-weak foes but neutral to flying (like ice). The difference from the top, as expected, is decent (-10,86%). But if it's windy, it will come back close to the top (-2%)!:Sky Attack - Fire weakness onlySky Attack - Fire weakness only + WindyHere a general leaderboard against fire-weak foes like Ice (also with weather boost):Sky attack - VS iceSky attack - VS ice + SunnySky attack - VS ice + WindyFLYING NEW LEADERBOARDLet's check the Flying new leaderboard. Moltres just skyrockets to the top with a little 1% DPS drop from the flying king Rayquaza! If is Sunny, it even surpasses him!Sky Attack - Flying TopSky Attack - Flying Top + SunnyIn conclusion Sky Attack isn't a straight upgrade to our Moltres, but a really solid choice in specific situations, so that the old Moltres doesn't become obsolete, but we'd still want to power up another with this charged move.I hope Niantic will keep on this track for future move releases like that. With the latest considerations Sky Attack actually IS a straight upgrade to vanilla Moltres, just in an unexpected direction :-)Safe traveles!THANK YOU ALL FOR THE SUGGESTIONS AND FOR POINTING OUT ERRORS!Edit 1: added sourceEdit 2: added flying top 5Edit 3: formatting + weather considerations where usefulEdit 4: fixed flying leaderboard + additional formatting via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2N04mYx
