"Trading and Battery Usage"
#PokemonGO: I noticed today that a simple trading session of about 70 minutes (stationary, no manual interaction with the game map, just some PoGo+ action) uses up more than twice the battery power as 2 1/2 hours of regular game play.We were sitting in a street cafe, just the two of us, trading each and everything to grind some candy with the ongoing event, maybe 50-60 trades in total, and my battery went from 72% to just 19% over this one hour and a bit.I've noticed a few issues that might contribute to the excessive battery drain: You can't start a "trading session" and keep going with trades until you close it. Every additional trade is handled just like you were starting a trade with a new person, even if you haven't returned to the game map at all. So everything is loaded again with all the various layers (friends list, trading screen, storage) and your preselection or search results (eg. Alola) are lost.Another example of probably excessive use of processing power is the preselection of trade-eligible Pokémon for your current trading partner. It is done for every trade anew and goes to deep levels and takes considerable time when your storage is at 1400+ Pokémon. Say you have done a special trade with another person before and your current trading partner has not done such a trade today, when you pull up your list of mons to select one, this list is already filtered for everything - not just shinies, legendaries, missing dex entries, but also matching all the Unown forms between the two accounts. Your phone quickly heats up, especially in this current weather, and you are wasting time and probably bandwidth. It would probably be much easier on the phone if the one Pokémon is checked for trade eligibility on selection. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2OejuOO
