"Witnessed a Hit and Run while Battling a Gym"

#PokemonGO: Last night, I decided that on my way to my girlfriend's house, I would battle a gym. I needed to do this to complete a quest. I pull into a gym that is located in a 50's restaurant. I parked in the back of the lot and almost moved to the front as it was closer to the gym location.As I was battling and healing up my Pokemon, I hear tires screeching. I then see a car (Chrysler 300) Tokyo drifting around the corner, into the parking lot and smash into a Dodge Durango. (Had I parked where I wanted to be closer to the gym I would have been hit)My first thought was, oh shit, this could be a stolen car or a robbery about to take place. I then thought, crap if he sees that I witnessed what just happened he might be mad and attack me. I need to leave the scene.I then got out of my car, and so did the suspect who just crashed. My heart raced and body flooded with adrenaline, as I feared he could pull out a weapon or attack me. I quickly walk away around the corner and see the suspect (woozy or high on drugs) walk away from the car and flee the scene.I then crossed the street, gathered some composure, made sure I was safe and called 911 for the first time in my life.I explain the situation, and while on the phone go back to check if he is there, I read off the license plate and the operator said it doesn't exist. I then noticed the plates expired December 2015.5 cop cars and a police dog arrive, they set up a perimeter to catch this suspect. Sadly they did not catch him.I then had to get in the cop car and gave a statement that was recorded. I described what I saw and what the suspect looked like.Finally, the police then asked, "why were you in your car in the parking lot?" To which I replied "...I was playing Pokemon Go... There is a gym here..."So that was my Saturday night adventure I wanted to share.All I can think about now is that I wish I followed the guy from a safe distance while I phoned the cops, so he didn't get away.TL;DR Saw a car smash into a parked car while battling a gym.
