"[complaint] Niantic: Stop requiring new pokestop spins!"

#PokemonGO: EDIT: This is not just about spiritomb, it's about the design of the requirement as a wholeIt's a bad idea. This has always been a bad idea, whether it is for a research task or for special research, because it screws over a good portion of your playerbase.Pokestop 1st time spins are permanent. Once you have done it, you can't do it anymore for that stop. This wouldn't be an issue if the game did not require you to go further and further afield to accomplish those new spins. And what if you can't?1) Rural players who have a limited number of pokestops and gyms in their area, and aren't going to be getting new stops any time soon2) Disabled players who may live in a city with new stops, but cannot travel too far outside their route3) Completionist / longtime players who simply have visited a large number of pokestops, even if they live in a dense urban area4) New parents, people with demanding jobs, people who don't own a car, people who live in restricted geography like mountains or islands, etc etc. It's called "Pokemon Go" not "Pokemon only those who own a car and have free time to drive really far"The longer the game is out, and the longer players play it, the harder and more unfair this task becomes. Fortunately for me, I live in a city with public transit and lots of unexplored areas. I can get those new stops no problem, but for so many others, the game is not set up for that requirement to be feasable.I love the idea of research tasks, but the fact that new pokestop spins are permanent really affects gameplay and makes it extremely uneven for everyone. This kind of task actually punishes loyal, long-time players instead of rewarding them. And if Niantic keeps using this as a task, it gets more and more punishing as time goes on, encouraging players to hoard precious unspun stops. It actively discourages new exploration of your area instead of encouraging it.Could we solve this? Maybe.1) (easiest) Make the requirement "8 new pokestops OR 25 old pokestops"2) (not really feasible) Have pokestops "refresh" after a long period of time (6 months?) into unspun status3) (least helpful) Hurry up with that Pokestop suggestion / approval system that doesn't rely on Go players leveling up in an entirely different game. I would love to help add new stops and gyms to rural areas, but I don't play Ingress, and I really don't plan to start. So please, Niantic, stop with the "new pokestop spin" requirement for tasks. It's bad game design to keep requiring players to accomplish something so permanent as a first spin. via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2EHFdif
