"I want to reshare some thoughts as pokestop submissions expand in beta."

#PokemonGO: First I want to share with you, pokemon goes stop criteria, as well as ingress's portal criteria. You will notice they are almost identical.pokemongoingressLet me say a few things before going forward with some advice. All of this comes from a 4 year ingress vet, a pogo beta tester, a mod of this sub, and a person who has scrubbed through 10s of thousands of submissions on OPR.The urge to submit low quality and possibly completely invalid stops near you, your work, your school, etc will be overwhelming. Please, fight these urges. The review process is some what overwhelmed in areas already. It takes time to review stops that will be rejected, and thus increases the time to get good candidates online.Second, try to space your stuff out. I have had ingress portals rejected after they cleared OPR (the approval system) due to being too close. exampleFinally, don't cheat the system. Read the rules for submission often. This will help literally every one. You, other players in both games, and every one that reviews them. Now finally, some tips to help get these through faster.First, submit google photospheres at all your locations. There is a lot of new art and construction out there that will not show up on google earth, and a lot of reviewers will be from as far as 1000 km away, be sure they can prove the object is there.Second, communicate with your local communities. If you use discord, I suggest you set up a channel just for say hey I submitted the dog sculpture next to the snake river in Burley ID. This will help Reduce duplicate submissions, which will also avoid wasting submissions as they are limited. Finally, really really take time to make sure they qualify. Make sure they are not on private property, that they are accessible on foot, and that they follow all the rules in the first links. Finally, dont submit duplicates of already existing areas. I have seen many LDS churches that try to get 2 portals on the church at either end of it. Just... Don't. No one is approving those. Also, not all ingress portals ported to pokemon go. As I understand it they use different cell systems and that caused some to not show up in POGO, so I suggest you grab the ingress game, even if you are not gonna play it, just so you can see if the stops exist already as portals. Ingress also has a handy, and official online map that can let you scout areas if you are traveling to see if they are dense or not in portals in case you want to save your submissions for when you are away from your city. https://ift.tt/1nLQhtP is the map.I personally do this to help rural areas out as it increases the quality of game for both teams. Finally, a personally preference. Get out and explore. You see a mountain trail, go hike it, see if it has unique markers, sculptures etc. This might not be the most ideal play style, but a lot of players find it fun to escape the dense cities, and still be able to play.A final thought. It takes multiple reviews to get a stop/portal online. No one person has the power to shut them down or approve them. Remember that even though your buddy Garry might have an uncle working for niantic, they cant fast track your submission, so do everything in your power to make sure that all reviewers can agree that your submission deserves to exist in game. via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2AxFmkv
