"My short guide to taking down gyms before they get golden-razzed"

#PokemonGO: I've never seen this talked about so I want to contribute with a method I use for taking down gyms at full health as fast as possible while reducing the chances of another player busting you and then feeding golden razz berries remotely. Just to be clear: I know most experienced players do it this way so I'm putting this out for the less experienced, I'm not claiming authorship or anything. To minimize this risk, you need to reduce the amount of pokemon with 1/3 of health at a given time. As you know, every time a pokemon is left with 1/3 of health, its trainer will get a notification. I you sweep a gym with 6 pokemon and you leave all of them with 1/3, the chances of getting golden razzed increase by 6. In order to avoid this, you need to take down one pokemon at a time. This is called "shaving" the gym. However, Niantic implemented a measure to prevent gym shaving: if you exit a gym after knocking out a pokemon many times, you won't be able to fight in that gym for a while. In order to prevent this, every time you knock out a polemon you should always attack the next pokemon and lower its health without knocking it out. I made this drawing to illustrate this shaving method:https://ift.tt/2NuTAFV there's a gym with 3 pokemon in it, all of them at full health. Every hearth is divided in three chunks, each one represents one fight. The numbers in green represent single attacks against the gym. To be clear: a fight is when you attack a single pokemon, and an attack on a gym is comprised of fights. So this is how this example goes: 1. First attack: you fight against Chansey one time, then Snorlax and then Exeggutor. By the end of this attack, they are all left with 2/3 of health. 2. Second attack: you fight Chansey and leave it with 1/3 health. Its trainer gets notified. 3. Third attack: You knock Chansey out before its trainer can give it a golden razz. You leave Snorlax with 1/3 health. It's trainer gets notified. 4. Fourth attack: Repeat the previous step, Exeggutor's trainer gets notified. 5. Fifth attack: Knock out Exeggutor. The gym is all yours now.The same works for a full gym with 6 pokemon at max health. The only way you can lose is if: •The trainer is REALLY fast in giving golden razzes or has the game already open. •One knocked out player notifies the other players holding the gym •The gym is being held by a multi-accounter.So that's it. Apologies if my english is bad or of I made any mistakes. I welcome any corrections, suggestions and opinions.Edit: turns out shave-blocking is a bug and not a feature. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2PnT8uX
