"Pokémon Go helped with my depression"

#PokemonGO: So for the past year I've been trying to recover. I started mood tracking, PMA, ended a toxic relationship and got invested in all my geeky passions once again. My best friend lives across the water (I live in NI he's in England) but we keep really good contact and he comes over every now and again. So he was over last week and before that we decided to get back into Pokémon Go. When he was over we went to town for a day and 3 long walks round our local neighbourhood to catch Pokémon and it was... liberating. I felt so happy having my best friend next to me as we fuelled our wonderful childlike thoughts and nostalgia from a video game series we had loved since being small children. Catching Pokémon, trading, sending gifts and fighting at gyms really made it feel like a real life role playing game.Right up until I drove him to the airport we were catching and trading. He's coming back in December and my excitement to have more Poké-adventures is overwhelming! This helped me take my mind off my depression, live another life and rekindle my love for a great series of videogames. More than anything, we both grew closer over it and had such a good laugh spending time together.Feeling good! via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2yFBrjg
