"The Problem with Free Pokécoins ( And how to fix them! )"

#PokemonGO: If you’re like me, you play Pokémon go daily, but you don’t want to spend actual money on the game. This makes gym defense pretty darn important, as that’s the only way you can get your free 50 coins a day! However, this can be tough for a lot of players for a plethora of reasons.Maybe you’re a rural player, and there aren’t really any gyms that you can reasonably make your way to on a daily basis.Maybe you’re like me, and you joined team Instinct, and yellow gyms around you just don’t last much longer than an hour without being taken over by mystic.Maybe you’re just too busy to bother grinding down gyms with any more than 3 Pokémon in them, and it feels like a waste of time when they’re getting gold berries each time you attack anyway. These are just a few things that can make gym defense tough, and I felt like sharing a few alternative methods of gaining Pokécoins that would help out a lot of players.1. Knocking a Pokémon out of a GymEach time a player successfully knocks a Pokémon out of a gym and back to their trainer, the player gets a Pokécoin. This will make gym battles feel a little less pointless, and will actively encourage people to flip gyms to other colors more often.2. Winning a RaidOne-star raids will net the player one coin, two-star raids will net them two coins, and so on and so forth. This could come as a prize alongside rare candies, gold berries, etc. after completing a raid.3. Walking with your buddyThis will help out our rural friends a bit. When walking with your buddy, they’ll have a chance of finding a Pokécoin for their trainer as they travel together.4. Transferring Pokémon to the professorFor every five Pokémon sent back to Professor Willow, he will thank them for aiding his research by awarding them with a Pokécoin.5. Research TasksThere should be a select few research tasks obtainable from stops that will reward the player between 5-10 coins for completing them.( the maximum number of pokécoins that can be obtained per day will stay at 50 )These are just a few methods I thought up, if you’ve got any other ideas, please feel free to share them!TL, DR: Gym defense shouldn’t be the only method of obtaining Pokécoins. Trainers should have a few more options to gain them at their disposal, while still keeping the maximum obtainable number per day at 50.EDIT: These suggestions are far from perfect in many ways, and if niantic ever decided to implement changes like this, they’d need a lot of work. I really appreciate all your thoughts in the comments! It’s interesting to see how many different ways this could go ( if it ever happened, which I doubt. Why would they do something that would cause them to make less money? ) via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2P4XNFg
