"How to transfer a pokemon from GO to the switch to get your mystery box."

#PokemonGO: I've seen lots of problems and complaints with this process. There are no good tutorials out there and it is not what I would consider intuitive. I had to read several guides, including the official niantic/nintendo one and piece together the info to figure it out. After reading many of the other threads, I feel like many people having issues just arent doing it right because of how confusing it is. So here goes.Edit: as many have pointed out, getting to Fuschia City requires a decent amount of Let's Go gameplay, probably between 6 and 24 hours depending on your playstyle. I would also like to add that Step 9 is probably the most important part of the guide because I think that's where the most confusion is.Start your Pokemon Go app. (many people suggested things like airplane mode, unpairing a plus, turning off battery mode, unpairing all bluetooth devices, etc. I dunno which if any of these worked or affected it because I did try several before succeeding.)In Let's Go, click X for the main menu and then Y for options. Select the Pokemon Go options menu. (A lot of people suggested having the switch undocked in handheld mode but with the joycons disconnected as well). In Pokemon Go, navigate to the pokeball button, options menu, and scroll down to "Nintendo Switch."Click to pair on both devices. Different orders may work for different people, I found it worked by searching from the phone first and then selecting start communication on the switch. The switch should find your account, mention it by your trainer name, and ask to connect. Pick yes.Once your phone shows that it is connected (just shows the switch symbol in white basically), navigate to your Pokemon Go storage box. You should see a switch symbol in the upper right corner.Click the switch symbol and begin highlighting pokemon you want to transfer, then click the confirm button at the bottom of the screen. It will take you to a loading screen showing the phone and the switch. On your switch, navigate your Let's Go character to the Go Park in Fuschia City, big blue building to the north with Pokestops around the doors, and talk to the guy behind the desk. This could take 6-24 hours or so depending on your playstyle.Choose to send pokemon to the park. This will now basically request you to repair your phone to the switch via bluetooth BUT it will only actually work if the two were already paired and your pokemon to transfer have already been selected on Pokemon Go. (I think this is where most people go wrong, they skip to here without doing the first parts and get frustrated that it won't connect.)Confirm everything on both devices and get your rewards. Remember you can only transfer Kanto pokemon, including alolan, to the switch, but shinies and IVs remain the same. And be careful to open your mystery box somewhere that usually gets lots of spawns, I've heard of people getting anywhere from 0 to 10 meltans depending, apparently, on where they open it.Lather, rinse, repeat until 400 candies. Thanks for reading, hope this helps save people from the half hour of confusion I endured to figure it all out. If there are any mistakes here, or you have additional tips, please let me know in the comments. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2KEbdTI
