"New Information Regarding Gen 4 and 5 Wi-Fi, Plus a Complete Pokécheck Tutorial!"
Hey guys! I wanted to make this post to inform you all of the new information and updates I have regarding Gen 4 and 5 Wi-Fi. Ever since I made my guide on how to connect to Wi-Fi in gens 4 and 5, I have gathered a lot more information, including what's being worked on, what is now available, and more. Listed below are all of the updates I've received since I made my aforementioned post.Gen 4 Wi-Fi works for Pokemon Ranger, so you can download the Wi-Fi exclusive missions, including the one that gives you the Manaphy egg.All languages and regions of every Gen 4 and Gen 5 games are compatible with this Wi-Fi method, referred to as Wiimmfi. The Wi-Fi Train in the Battle Subway in Gen 5 works! You can battle trainers from all around the world now! Here is a page on the topic from an old Gen 5 guide I have!Xfinity routers don't seem to work with this Wi-Fi method at all for Gen 4, even if you set the Wi-Fi security to WEP or Open. So if you have an Xfinity router you might have to buy an old modem or use an Android phone’s mobile hotspot, which is what that user did.DreamWorld is currently being looked into with the effort to implement it back into the games. The Wi-Fi Plaza in Gen 4 is currently up and running! For some information on it, look here. There are 38 events that you can get across all four Gen 5 games if they are set in English, 23 events that you can get across all four Gen 5 games if they are set in French, 23 events that you can get across all four Gen 5 games if they are set in German, 24 events that you can get across all four Gen 5 games if they are set in Italian, 22 events that you can get across all four Gen 5 games if they are set in Spanish, 395 events that you can get across all four Gen 5 games if they are set in Japanese, and 79 events that you can get across all four Gen 5 games if they are set in Korean.I'd like to give special thanks to /u/InternalLoss, who works in the Mystery Gift department and who is helping to run this entire Pokemon Wiimmfi operation! I am currently talking with him, and he has connections to the ones who run the Wiimmfi server! (This newfound Wi-Fi connection for gens 4 and 5 is a branch of Wiimmfi, which runs the servers that allow all of this to be possible!) If I find out any more information on any of this, I will be sure to let you know! In the meanwhile, you can check out /r/wiimmfi if you want to spread the word! And now, for a huge update! Pokécheck is now back up and running for Gen 4 and partially for Gen 5! You can use it to get any Pokemon you'd like across the two gens, and, only for Gen 4, you can also use it to find out your SID (Secret ID) if you want to RNG for Shiny Pokemon! All this involves is the GTS. For Gen 5, all you can do is receive Pokemon; you can't deposit a Pokemon to check its stats or your game's SID.If you are interested in receiving Pokemon, all you have to do is register an account on the website, follow my guide here to search for whatever Pokemon you'd like and add it to your Queue, hop on your DS system, set your Primary DNS to whatever it says at the top of the page here, load the game, hop on the GTS, and the Pokemon you put in your Queue will come right to you! Make sure to check for legality before putting the Pokemon in your Queue! (This can be seen near the bottom of the page that is shown right after you click on a Pokemon you are interested in, where all the facts about the origin of the Pokemon are written out. If everything is green, that means the Pokemon is perfectly legal. If something is stated in bold dark red, beware! It is illegal! If something is stated in yellow, such as this following commonly-seen phrase, it's usually nothing to worry about: "This Pokémon appears xx times in the Pokécheck database, including xx time(s) as a public Pokémon. It may have been checked multiple times or this can indicate cloning or a static PID event or in-game trade.")If you are interested in depositing a Pokemon to check its stats or to check your game's SID for RNG purposes in Gen 4, simply register an account on the website, change the Primary DNS value to whatever is at the top of the page here, enter the GTS of a Gen 4 Pokemon game, attempt to deposit a Pokemon you caught in that same save file (don't worry, it won't disappear from your game), and check back here. There, click on 'Unclaimed Pokemon from my IP,' and from there, you can view its stats or any information about yourself, including your SID. You can also change your account preferences here, and make sure to check the box that says 'Show legality analysis by default:'Here is a guide on it all, but it is from a while ago, so make sure to use whatever Primary DNS value is at the top of the page here, not the one he uses in the video. Only change the Primary DNS the way the person in the video does it on his DS Lite for Gen 4. For Gen 5, simply change it in the Internet Settings of the DS itself, as he shows right after doing it on his DS Lite. Before all this, make sure you have your Wi-Fi connection all set up for whatever game you want to receive Pokemon in. If you're looking for a guide on how to do so, click here! I don't endorse the use of Pokécheck in any way, and the only reason I used it was to get a Ditto for Masuda Method breeding purposes. If you have any questions, feel free to comment and ask or even PM me if you have specific questions! I'd be happy to help, and I will certainly help you to the best of my abilities! Peace ✌ via /r/pokemon http://bit.ly/2Rsipsh
