"Damage Multiplier Rebalance Part 1: Explanation and Meta Shift [GamePress]"

#PokemonGO: First the link. This is probably overdue, but hopefully by now with some interesting legendaries, people are getting over the high of the PvP release a bit (right??) and starting to raid again. When Niantic dropped PvP, they changed the SE damage bonus from 40% to 60%. Other than making raids easier, the effects of this change probably haven’t been felt too much yet, but some things to keep in mind:Generalists like Dragon-types will be less useful than previously. When you combine the rebalance with the emergence of some decent Ice-types, it’s hard to find matchups where Dragons are the top counters (Giratina and Palkia survive as notable cases).Gengar is now even glassier against Psychic-types, while Mewtwo suffers in these matchups because of its fast moves.Tyranitar and Weavile are awesome Psychic attackers and beg to be top-priority investments for when the Lake Trio rolls around. The relevant attackers in each type remain unchanged, since the change doesn’t target specific Pokemon like the November DEF/HP rebalance did. Instead, we should see a bit of a shift toward attackers that not only deal SE damage to their opponents, but also take NVE damage back, since the TDO discrepancy has also increased.Part 2 covering Tier 4 solos will be out within a couple of days. Thanks for reading! via /r/TheSilphRoad http://bit.ly/2CAzbvv
