"[Discussion] Frustrated PTC children account creators - we're still out here"

#PokemonGO: The silence on this topic from Niantic is deafening.Back when they announced their new kids accounts, I had a small, naive hope that they were actually working on a solution for all of us who created PTC childrens accounts for our kids, but the topic is now all but dead - both from Niantic themselves and the community - and it gnaws at me to no end. I know Niantic has a history of showing little to no regard for portions of their user base, but the way they have managed to screw over the kids and parents who stupidly chose to abide by the rules by creating a PTC childrens account, and then proceeded to ignore the problem, is absolutely staggering and mustn't be forgotten.I'm not going to bother you with a sob story about the reaction of my kid back when he learned that he wouldn't be able to trade with me and his friends after all, as that's obviously history by now. He has had a new Google account for a long time now despite the fact that he's obviously way too young to have that lawfully, which is now higher level than his old PTC one, and he's still enjoying to play the game with me. So why am I bringing this up now? Well, small part of the problem is of course that he still has a large portion of good, very usable 'mons on his old account that we haven't necessarily been able to replicate, but much much more importantly is the fact that there are hours, days and months of great memories tied to that account now gathering dust.I know there are parents out there who didn't have the time and/or resources to create a new account for their kids – or simply believed that Niantic surely would work out a quick, reasonable solution for them, and I’m sure many of those have kids that have long since stopped playing the game or is now playing a Pokemon Go that is much less enjoyable that it by all rights ought to be. Hell, I don’t want to try to put any percentages of enjoyment on the friends system and PvP, but I think we can all agree that they’re both pretty integral parts of the game by now that everyone should be able to enjoy.While I have long since stopped hoping for a solution, I won’t stop feeling screwed over by Niantic, and this is by all rights a topic that deserves to be heard much more often and not be buried by neither the community nor Niantic themselves. via /r/TheSilphRoad http://bit.ly/2ScpQ7j
