"Feebas Day Mechanics and Tips"

#PokemonGO: In a similar vein to my Community Day articles, I've written this guide on Feebas' limited research event including all known mechanics and a few tips on how to play!I'll summarize some key points but for my full thoughts definitely check out the full article!Same time as Community Day. That meansEurope, the Middle East, Africa, and India: Jan. 19, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. UTC (GMT +0)The Americas and Greenland: Jan. 19, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8)Asia-Pacific: Jan. 20, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. JST (GMT +9)We've never had a day quite like this which should make for a fun unique experience. I'm into anything that changes up the normal play patterns. I talk about some expected possibilities in the article as well as some unknowns. Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India are our new test subjects for 3-hour event windows. We’ll have a better idea of the exact mechanics of this event after the first window takes place, so check back then to the article and this subreddit as a whole for corrections and additions after the event has started there.Research from stops can only be completed once daily. That's a big one. Luckily, there's no need to spin stops to stock up or anything if that's part of your CD morning routine.During Squirtle CD Sunglasses “Squirtle Squad” Squirtle were available from research with a shiny chance. In that event, any Shiny Squirtle task rewards were shiny for all players that completed that task. This was a weird choice(?) by Niantic that I think is an actual coin flip of repeating. Again, check back here.If that's the case, your best bet is to spin stops off the beaten path and encourage others to do the same. Someone is going to get the main strip. Split up and spin to cover more ground.Prepare for that not to be the case and chart a course. Find friends willing to play at your pace and accompany you to make the day more memorable. While this event does encourage a lot of driving, consider driving between parks, malls, and other locations where you can get out and walk.Research during Feebas day will include the following tasks:Feebas Research: Earn 1 Buddy CandyFeebas Research: Hatch 1 EggFeebas Research: Make {X} Great ThrowsFeebas Research: Make {X} Nice ThrowsStack multiple of the same type of quest to save time.Throw quests are the easiest and quickest to complete. Start improving your throws today!! and video link Seriously, this will help you out so much more than just Feebas day. There's also a little mechanical info on the research "bank," "stack," or queue. This can be an amazing tool for Feebas day. There's a few more disclaimers in the full guide if you're not familiar. It's not technically a supported feature but it will make a huge difference throughout the day.Pick a 1km buddy Pokemon. I outline a few options in the article but anything will do. Show off a shiny or get a few more Geodude candy.Stagger your eggs. It's possible to hatch an egg every .37km incubating only 5km eggs. Or, you know, just toss those tasks. The latter two tasks can be good before leaving an area as you travel to the next, after exhausting all throw related tasks. Check your remaining distance till your next hatch or buddy candy before hanging onto these guys still.CP range for Feebas encounters is 99-117 CPThat's pretty much it. The full article contains a little more fine detail that may also be helpful for players newer to some of these mechanics (though also a good deep dive for those in the know). Consider sharing it in your local community groups to help everyone make the most of this new unique experience! via /r/pokemongo http://bit.ly/2FLbzrB
