"Move aside, Palkia needs its space!"

#PokemonGO: Ahoy Redditors, you've probably already seen the news, we're getting Palkia on January 29th, and Palkia will be staying until February 28th. (Hint, hint, are we getting Dialga next? Or does Rayquaza make a return in March?)As per usual, I've gone ahead and done a little analysis on our new Raid Boss, and here's all the interesting tidbits you'll want to know before jumping into battle head-on!Raid Boss Palkia stats:CP: 50,019Attack: 233 / Defense: 181 / HP: 12,500 (set value for Tier 5 Raids)CP Values:Min CP Level 20: 2190 | Max CP Level 20: 2280Min CP Level 25: 2737 | Max CP Level 25: 2850 (Windy/Rainy Weather only!)Caught Palkia stats:Attack: 280 / Defense: 215 / HP: 189Palkia's moves:Fast Moves: Dragon Breath* (6 Base Power) / Dragon Tail* (15 Base Power)*Note: Dragon Breath and Dragon Tail get a Same-Type-Attack-Bonus, further increasing their Base Power to 7 (rounded down from 7.2) and 18 respectively. (20% increase in power)Charge Moves: Draco Meteor* (150 Base Power) / Fire Blast (140 Base Power) / Hydro Pump* (130 Base Power)*Note: Draco Meteor and Hydro Pump get a Same-Type-Attack-Bonus, further increasing their Base Power to 180 and 156 respectively. (20% increase in power)Palkia has excellent stats across the board, making it a versatile and viable Dragon-type powerhouse, almost rivaling Rayquaza in terms of raw Attack stats. It only has two weaknesses, being Dragon and Fairy, so Pokémon of those types will be your go-to-Pokémon when battling, but beware of it's tremendously powerful Draco Meteor if you decide to tackle it with things like Dragonite and Salamence, they'll instantly get KO'd if they get hit by a Draco Meteor! Here's a short list of Pokémon you'll want to consider taking into battle against Palkia:Dragon-Type Pokémon: Rayquaza, Salamence, Dragonite, Palkia, Alolan-Exeggutor, Latios, Latias, Flygon, Giratina, KingdraFairy-Type Pokémon: Gardevoir, Clefable, Togekiss, Granbull, AzumarillOther viable Pokémon include: Mewtwo, Gyarados (Outrage set), Ursaring, Mew, Celebi, AlakazamFor the do-or-die challenge-seeking Trainers among the readers: Palkia can be duo'd, with and without a Windy weatherboost. Bring your toughest Dragon-type Pokémon, like Dragonite, Rayquaza and Salamence, and you should have a (somewhat) easy time taking down a Palkia with 2 Trainers. However, it's not possible to duo Palkia with Draco Meteor, if you don't have a Windy weatherboost. The number of required Rayquaza far exceeds what you should be capable of Max Reviving in the short amount of time that you have, meaning it's impossible to do so. (You'd need to split 4 teams of level 40 Rayquaza per Trainer to be able to do this.)Palkia is relatively easy to shortman, the very least you'd want to do this with, would be with 3 Trainers that all have at least 3 or 4 Dragonite available at level 35 or higher, alongside a Salamence, maybe a Rayquaza, or otherwise even high-level Latios, Alolan Exeggutor, Gardevoir, Togekiss, Flygon or any of the other mentioned Pokémon above.Taking down Palkia with groups greater than 3 people is a piece of cake. Just make sure people actually bring their Dragon/Fairy-Type Pokémon, and there's no way you won't make it in time, unless you're way under level 30, in which case I strongly advise to seek help from stronger (Level 35+) Trainers in your nearby surroundings to assist in the Raid Battle!Hope this information is useful to you, and have a good haul, Trainer! via /r/pokemongo http://bit.ly/2RjQUgg
