"Gen 5's Top non-legendary Pokémon with the highest potential: Part 1"

#PokemonGO: Gen 4 hasn't finished releasing yet, but it's never too early to start talking about Gen 5. It introduced more Pokémon than any other generation, at a whopping 156! Also it's worth mentioning that the majority of Gen 5 Pokémon has at least good stats. Here I'll be discussing what are the Pokémon that will change the metagame if they get good moves.Buckle up guys, this is going to be pretty long.ARCHEOPSATTACK: 292DEFENSE: 139STAMINA: 181Rock/FlyingIdeal moves: Rock Throw+Rock Slide/Wing Attack+Sky AttackDo not be fooled by Archeops' derpy appearance. It certainly has a whole lot of brawn behind those flimsy lttle wings. It has an ATTACK stat that is only 3 points shy of Rampardos, our current strongest Rock type ATTACK stat, along with being able to learn a Rock type fast attack, which not many Pokémon have. So let's see how Archeops, Tyranitar and Rampardos compare.PokémonMovesetDPSTDOArcheopsRock Throw+Rock Slide18.255386.3RampardosSmack Down+Rock Slide18.413370.8TyranitarSmack Down+Stone Edge14.405532.6Archeops and Rampardos are very similar Pokémon. They are much glassier versions of Tyranitar who have a huge DPS score. What makes Archeops get the edge over Rampardos is its potential access to an insanely powerful combo of Wing Attack+Sky Attack, landing it comfortably at the very top spot for Flying type DPS. Sadly this type is not very essential for legendary raids. Only when Virizion comes shall we see what a Double Flying Archeops can do. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing Archen spawn in a future Adventure Week. However it remains to be seen what Niantic will do to Archeops about it’s ability. Seeing as they released Rampardos, who’s at the level of Archeops without any drawback, I am slightly skeptical.CHANDELUREATTACK: 271DEFENSE: 182STAMINA: 155Fire/GhostIdeal moves: Fire Spin+Overheat/Hex+Shadow BallSurprisingly a Pokémon that is based on a household object made this list. And for good reason too. Its stats surpass our mighty survivor Gengar's! However the quick move Hex drags it down (surprisingly a bit), being significantly worse than Shadow Claw or Lick. However Chandelure can still hold its own against the common raids weak to Ghost. It also does double duty, being the second highest DPS fire type Pokémon, only behind the future Community Day exclusive Blast Burn Blaziken.PokémonMovesetDPSTDOChandelureHex+Shadow Ball17.525407.3GengarLick+Shadow Ball18.109350.4Again, two very similar Pokémon. One having slightly more DPS, and the other having slightly more TDO. Overall a very solid Ghost type. Now let's see Chandelure VS. Blaziken VS. Moltres.PokémonMovesetDPSTDOMoltresFire Spin+Overheat16.273491.4ChandelureFire Spin+Overheat17.129398.1BlazikenFire Spin+Blast Burn17.247382.8Chandelure and Blaziken have very similar performance (once again). However, due to them being frail and Blast Burn having two bars, I give the edge to Blaziken here. Still, people who will miss Torchic's Community Day in May won't want to miss Chandelure. As my analysis is going to be too long for one post, I decided to split it into two parts. Part 2 is coming later this weekend, covering Excadrill, Conkeldurr, and Volcarona. The numbers are taken from https://ift.tt/2BWy9wZ via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2FgzwpX
