"Here's why Dialga is good"

#PokemonGO: If you are ever going to go hard for a T5 boss, well, go hard for Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza and Mewtwo. But beyond those, go hard for Dialga. This is the best new legendary Pokemon we are going to see until Yveltal in Gen 6. I'm personally prepared to burn 100 premium passes trying to get at least a 98 IV for this one. Here's why I think it is so good:Pokemon Go flattens the differences that exist among Pokemon in the main series. Moves do nothing but deal damage, and there are no abilities. So Pokemon who do the same type of STAB damage vary only in the efficiency of their moveset, their bulk and their secondary typing, and therefore their set of vulnerabilities and resistances.Salamence, Dragonite, Rayquaza and Garchomp do very different things in the main series games, but they all do the same thing in Pokemon Go: Dragon-type damage. All dragons serve the same purpose in raids: attacking other dragons, who are vulnerable to dragon type damage, and who don't have a double weakness to ice.Dialga is relevant because of his secondary steel typing. Steel resists dragon, which counters his dragon type vulnerability to dragon damage, which means he takes neutral damage from dragon-type attacks. Couple that with his significant bulk, which is comparable to Tyranitar, and he is much beefier against Dragon bosses than other Dragon attackers. But he still has an attack stat nearly as high as Salamence, though his Dragon Breath quick move is a little less efficient than Mence's Dragon Tail.Comparing Dialga to Rayquaza attacking a Dragon Breath/Dragon Claw Latios, Rayquaza finishes the fight in 680 seconds, but dies 40 times. Dialga finishes the fight in 720 seconds, but dies only 26 times. That's 6% less damage and about 80% more bulk. Dialga is actually the fastest DPS against Dragon Tail/Draco Meteor Palkia, because Rayquaza is dead all the time in that matchup. Dialga dies only 30 times compared to Rayquaza's 62.In every dragon fight Dialga is within 10% of Rayquaza's DPS, with at least 50% more bulk. If he saves you from having to relobby, he will increase the damage you deal over the course of a fight. Here is the list of all dragon-type legendaries and Ultra Beasts that are not double weak to ice:Latios - Dialga resists psychic attacks, which hit other dragons for neutral. He double resists solar beamLatias - Dialga resists psychic attacks. He resists Thunder, which hits flying dragons and Palkia for neutralPalkia - Dialga will take neutral damage from fire, which other dragons resist, and Palkia double resists.GiratinaReshiram - Dialga will take neutral damage from fire, which other dragons resist, and Palkia double resists.Zekrom - Dialga will resist electric attacks which hit flying dragons and Palkia for neutral. Garchomp has immunity-tier resistance to electric, but will take SE damage from Zekrom's dragon attacks.Kyurem - Dialga and Palkia will take Neutral damage from Kyurem's ice moves. They will be top attackers in this fight.GuzzlordNecrozma - Dialga resists psychic attacks which hit other dragons for neutralNagandel - Dialga's steel typing gives him immunity-tier resistance to poison-type attacksDialga will be relevant in all of these raids.Dialga's typing means he only takes super-effective damage from fighting and ground-type attacks. His Dragon damage is only resisted by Steel and Fairy, and he can hit Fairy for SE damage by carrying Iron Head as his second charge move. This means he's a very good Pokemon in PoGo PvP, where he can outperform just about anything at neutral damage, and can counter all dragons except Garchomp. The only enemies who really threaten him are Chomp, Groudon, Metagross with Earthquake, and Machamp. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2ToxiN4
