"Suggestions to help make better PoGo stop submissions from an OPR (Ingress) reviewer"

#PokemonGO: Actual pokestop submission (with location and license plate blurred)I am an Ingress payer who occasionally sees Pokemon Go stop submissions in the review process (OPR). Here is an example of one I have seen and I am sharing here with the hope to improve future submissions.Below the image of the submitted portal/stop and the supplemental image/statement on the right, are google maps and satellite views of the area (not shown here). There was no "StreetView" available in the area nor was there a 360 photosphere available. At this point, assuming that the candidate meets the other criteria to be a stop/portal (ignoring the whole poster vs. mural debate), the reviewer has to look at the "portal photo" and "supporting photo" to try to decide the following: 1) Is this on private property/publicly accessible and 2) Was it submitted in the correct place? From the portal photo, neither of these things can be determined. There is no additional information in the Description either (i.e. it could have been added that this mural was on the wall of the local theatre or something). From the supplemental photo, all I appear to be getting is the picture of someone's car (with the license plate showing) of what looks to be a residential area. The supplemental statement is completely unhelpful as well. The reviewers are given a map that shows us nearby ingress portals (there were none). Obviously, the reason most of us submit is to add portals/stops to the games, so you don't need to tell the reviewer that. Give us information like "This is on the wall of the local community center where we gather to have weekly meetings/play games". That helps reviewers feel more comfortable about accepting that it is in a public place and not on someone's living room wall.At this point, the vast majority of reviewers are likely to reject this submission and no useful information will be sent to the submitter saying why it was rejected - leading to much aggravation for the submitter.Help us accept your (future) submissions by fully utilizing those supplemental photos and submission statements to provide ironclad reasons why what you are submitting should be accepted/follows the guidelines for acceptance. Ingress players who submit portals are envious that you get that opportunity to add this extra information as we know it would lead to many many more portals (and thus potential stops) being added to the games!tldr: include a) good descriptions; b) supplemental photos that actually help place where your submission is; and c) submission statements that better describe what it is you are submitting, not "I want a stop here!" via /r/pokemongo https://ift.tt/2Uw3b3F
