"Niantic Blocking ISP ip address and restricting ability to login via-wifi"
#PokemonGO: I originally found my same problem on the silph road reddit in two different cases and wanted to speak up about it.Case 1:https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemongo/comments/9ry3nw/unable_to_authenticate_on_home_wifi/Case 2:https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/72dufr/just_moved_into_a_new_condo_and_my_new_isps_ip/I have been having this same exact problem for the past year since I changed from Rogers to a smaller Internet Provider "CarryTel" Based in Ontario, Canada. I've talked to Niantic, they verified my account is in good standing and suggested that my ISP was restricting their app. Spoke to my ISP and they had seemed like they we're familiar with the situation and said they weren't restricting anything but Niantic is blocking or blacklisted their ISP static IP address. So I went back to Niantic Support to request they unrestrict access to the static IP address for my ISP and they said they were unable to comment on it. Then started suggesting its my wifi's issue or my device's issue ect. Or to spend more money and change my ISP. Starting the loop all over again. I tested out using a VPN to prove this theory and was able to log in fine.I went back to Niantic Support, sent them a link to this reddit conversation to try and help them understand this issue and once again asked them politely to please unrestrict access to my ISP.They responded this morning by saying" Please do not follow any third party websites. Follow the official websites and social media channels for updates."And to once again check that my device and app's are not restricting anything. Or to change my ISP.I asked them to escalate the issue and to politely unrestrict access to my ISP again as they are now repeating themselves with support tips that are not related to the issue. Told them I tested this theory with a VPN and it worked fine, thus proving they are restricting traffic in some shape or form.I shouldn't need to spend extra money on changing my ISP or buying a VPN to use their service and product when they've verified my account is in good standing.Really getting the run around and crap end of the stick from them. via /r/TheSilphRoad https://ift.tt/2FPtTPN
