"Is anybody else surprised by how tepid the movie event is? It seems like the biggest chance they'll get to relaunch the game in the world's eyes"

#PokemonGO: If there was ever a time for Po Go to be flooded with novelty pikachus like we've had many times, the launch of the first live action pokemon game about a novelty pikachu seems it. It seems Niantic instead wanted to make use of their photobombing which is nice for not having a bunch of difficult transfers, but misses a chance to get players drawn back in for a big novelty event everywhere all day every day which ties into hopefully getting hyped for the movie. There could have been a return of Mewtwo to raids. There could have been a week of only legendary raids with all the T5s returning. There could have been a major 2x candy + xp event. There could have been a week of legacy community day moves being obtainable to really hype up people and get the attention of those who've drifted away.Instead it's just... some unappealing raid additions which were forgotten in 5 minutes? An almost mechanical photobomb a day? Some unusually bland research tasks with no good rewards?Feels like a maaajorrr missed opportunity imo. I was sort of looking forward to this being the moment when Niantic seized the obvious opportunity and brought some life back to this game, which has dropped off dramatically in activity here on reddit and in my own chats the last few months. I think even I might be hanging in the towel after seeing this chance drift away, with major bugs still remaining unfixed for weeks now like raid eggs never hatching. via /r/pokemongo http://bit.ly/307q2pu
