#PokemonGO: Was reading the Gen 4 Pokédex entries today, and I got to Gible’s entry and was surprised that it mentions the Alola region (see screenshot). Did some digging and realised that the text comes from Ultra Moon from the main series game.But not all Gen 4 Pokémon are available in the Gen 7 games (Sun/Moon/US/UM). So it seems like for those unavailable in Ultra Moon, Niantic used the Pokédex entries from Alpha Sapphire instead.Sorry if this is known info already.
