"All this outrage over pokemon exclusion is kinda wholesome when you think about it"

I see a lot of people responding to the backlash saying that they're fine with cutting pokemon or agreeing with GameFreak when they say that we have too many pokemon. I understand why, it's hard to see all this negativity, not only as a big fan but also when brand new games are right around the corner. But this debacle actually demonstrates how diverse and incredible our fanbase is.We've all heard that, "Every single pokemon is someone's favorite pokemon." But I don't think we really saw that in action until now. There are people with intense hatred of certain pokemon (I'm sure we've all met some of those folks), but even then, those people still know how wrong this decision is. There are pokemon that many have completely forgotten or overlooked, yet, I've seen so many people step forward on places like Twitter to share their love for these unpopular, weird pokemon. It really shows that even if there are pokemon that never get any attention, merch or love, people still will fight for them.I'll be honest, I'm actually surprised the fanbase is taking the news so badly. If I known ahead of time, I'd probably think that most people would be happy with the decision (because it's true, there are a lot of useless/forgettable pokemon). Yet, people are outraged.
