#PokemonGO: Ok so some table-setting...22 y/o and I’m taking summer classes every few weeks or so for college this summer, and my mom and I planned a road trip out to the east coast and to visit my sister in Tennessee. My little brother and my dad both have played for years, and I’ve only been playing for about a month or so. I’ve had so much fun with this game I convinced my mom to download it before we left the next day. Apparently, she had downloaded it once before, but my brother was not helpful in teaching her how to play, so she had deleted it after a while.It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.As we took turns driving and exploring through different national parks, Pittsburg, the Gettysburg Battleground, Philly, Atlantic City, DC, and finally Nashville...she played the entire time. Her phone was constantly dead. She caught somewhere around a couple hundred Pokémon over the duration of the trip. We saw memorials and views we wouldn’t have known about if not for some of the PokéStops. One example is we stayed right next to James Monroe’s home in DC, which I thought was really cool. I’d be walking on the street for 15 feet only to look back and see her say, “Look!! This one’s a giant rock snake!”We would have had a great vacation regardless of Pokémon Go, but holy Articuno was it so much more fun playing Go with my mom the entire time. Do we spend money on an Uber? Let’s walk! The restaurant is only 10 blocks away? Let’s get some poke balls before dinner! We left on Tuesday, and we got back tonight, with just over 40 miles walked for our weekly totals. This game completely amped up the entire trip.
